• Build physician partnerships and set the Division’s growth strategy • Manage clinical, financial, and operational performance across an approximately $300M operational portfolio • Build a shared vision for the Division and ensure supporting people and operational processes are in place • Foster a people-centric, success-oriented, accountable company culture • Attract, recruit, retain, motivate, and lead the operations team • Ensure healthy board governance and participate in board meetings and governance activities • Report regulatory issues, ASC industry updates, lobbying efforts, and relevant health-system, physician-practice-management, and private-equity relationship updates • Inform people development, professional growth, and management approaches for the Division • Manage Directors of Operations and provide strategic direction for operational excellence • Partner with the Senior Vice President to improve regional partner relationships and center management • Coach Directors of Operations and center leaders in provider relationship development • Articulate corporate initiatives and develop implementation plans with Directors of Operations • Oversee and continuously improve quality, operational efficiency, cost management, risk management, regulatory compliance, teammate engagement and retention, provider engagement, and growth strategy • Develop and execute the Division portfolio strategy • Maintain relationships with health-system joint ventures, physician partnerships, and physician practice-management MSOs • Develop business planning and growth strategy with the Senior Vice President and business development leadership • Identify new regional opportunities within communities and across payers • Own physician relationships and address their growth needs • Support organic growth and strategic initiatives across the Division • Introduce initiatives to expand same-store and Division volume and revenue • Support acquisition due diligence for new center opportunities • Lead Directors of Operations and center leaders in business-development due diligence • Represent the organization with key stakeholders and maintain strong physician partnerships • Drive the clinician value proposition and Patient-Centered-Care • Own regional physician, health-system partnership, and physician-practice-management operations • Sell and influence adoption of strategic initiatives • Provide AMSURG advocacy updates to provider partners • Serve as an active member of the Partnership Board of Directors • Account for Division portfolio financial performance • Provide strategic direction to optimize regional financial performance • Understand financial reporting and assigned Directors of Operations geographies • Present and communicate quarterly forecasts and budget models to AMSURG leadership • Assist the Senior Vice President with managed-care messaging • Review the entire Division portfolio and develop the Division budget • Assist operations leads with center-level budgets • Manage and challenge portfolio and growth targets • Report suspected or actual compliance, policy, harassment, or prohibited-activity violations • Lead less-senior operations leaders during crises • Assess crises, leverage appropriate resources, and develop and communicate action plans • Debrief after crisis resolution to determine root causes • Implement plans to mitigate root causes in the future
• Proven experience in a leadership role with a track record of driving team success and achieving organizational objectives • Demonstrated ability to identify and address opportunities or challenges without direct oversight • Excellent interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with physicians, staff members, and external customers • Strong management skills and ability to oversee complex projects and multiple priorities • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Comfortable presenting to senior management, boards, community divisions, and physicians • Proven ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision • Ability to manage ambiguity in a highly matrixed organization • Growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement • Ability to embrace challenges, learn from feedback, and adapt to evolving situations • Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, with an average travel commitment of 40–60% • Bachelor’s degree and/or master’s degree in business, healthcare administration, or a relevant field, and/or equivalent work • Minimum ten (10) years of healthcare operations management experience • Extensive experience leading healthcare operations in a multi-state integrated healthcare delivery system • Direct P&L experience for a healthcare operation with minimum $100M+ revenue • Must read and abide by the company’s code of conduct, ethics statements, employee handbook(s), policies and procedures, and corporate mandates • Must participate in mandatory training programs
