📋 Description

• Lead one of Apollo's largest and most visible engineering teams in the Rep Experience organization • Define, set, and uphold team goals and expectations • Build and scale an engineering team through sourcing and hiring • Drive a culture of excellence, learning, and fun • Improve development and management processes within Apollo Engineering • Collaborate with engineering leadership, Product Managers, Designers, and GTM stakeholders to deliver high-quality software rapidly • Join customer calls and serve as an expert on the team's owned area • Shape and participate in engineering organization decision-making • Participate in sprint planning, software design, and occasional code reviews • Sustainably manage the team's on-call responsibilities • Provide technical leadership and occasional coding, mentoring engineers from the details • Support trade-off discussions; own sizing, estimation, and technical direction as the product lead's technical counterpart

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on software engineering industry experience • 3 to 5 years of experience in people management, preferably leading senior engineers and managers • Proven technical leadership, including software architecture at scale, effective engineering processes, and cross-functional collaboration • Experience with Ruby and Python • Understanding of data privacy and security fundamentals • Strong technical understanding of engineering systems, especially data-related systems • Leadership, strategic execution, mentoring, and process/documentation skills • Familiarity with React, MongoDB, SQL, and Elasticsearch (great to have) • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, and Looker (great to have) • Experience within Sales Tech (great to have)
