• Design, develop, and apply advanced AI and machine learning models for complex, mission-critical problems • Fine-tune large language models, build computer vision systems, and integrate multimodal AI solutions • Work with real-world datasets and implement and optimize models in Python using PyTorch, TensorFlow, and LangChain • Collaborate with AI researchers and software engineers in an agile development environment • Design and develop AI and software systems that classify and measure human states using multimodal sensor approaches • Apply data mining, statistical analysis, machine learning, computational modeling, and digital signal processing methods • Implement, test, and apply mathematical algorithms from research • Design and implement scientific and technical aspects of projects and proposals • Lead technical tasks under projects and proposals, delivering timely, high-quality work • Contribute to technical reports, proposals, presentations, and published papers • Support senior staff through proposals, capabilities briefs, software or meeting materials, software integration and installation, and customer meetings • Continue professional education and conduct background research related to project needs • Present work at professional conferences and in professional publications
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant work experience • Demonstrated technical and leadership ability to take on this level of requirements • General understanding of multiple technical domains relevant to Aptima, with a primary specialty integrated with other domains • Ability to apply engineering technical skills, principles, and heuristics to high-quality, customer-responsive, contractually compliant, timely plans and products • Moderate proficiency in software development practices relevant to ML/AI workflows • Object-oriented programming experience, such as Python, Java, or C# • Modular code design experience • Ability to transition exploratory notebooks into maintainable, production-ready packages • Foundational understanding of machine learning techniques, including deep learning, feature extraction, and embedding application • Experience building computational models from large datasets • Experience with NLP, LLMs, agentic workflows, or computer vision is a plus
