📋 Description

• Develop, test, and implement data pipelines in Databricks using SQL, Python, and Apache Spark • Support pilot initiatives, proof-of-concept solutions, and production data workflows • Build and maintain pipelines across bronze, silver, and gold medallion architecture layers • Implement data governance tagging, metadata standards, and classification roles in Unity Catalog • Apply column masking, access controls, and reference data lookups • Define and maintain pipeline and workflow configurations using YAML and configuration-as-code practices • Execute data quality testing and validation for accuracy, completeness, consistency, compliance, data contracts, and business rules • Handle Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and comply with applicable safeguarding requirements • Travel occasionally for project needs, client meetings, team collaboration events, or training; travel expected to be less than 10%

🎯 Requirements

• DHS Suitability Required • BS/BA degree and 3–5 years of data engineering, including hands-on work with Databricks, Spark and YAML, or an equivalent combination of education and experience • Demonstrated experience designing data governance, tagging, and metadata standards • Deep understanding of the medallion architecture and how metadata, sensitivity, and access requirements evolve across Bronze, Silver, and Gold • Experience implementing column masking, row-level security, and dynamic access controls • Ability to reconcile competing requirements across stakeholders • Strong SQL and Spark proficiency • Proficiency in defining pipeline configuration and data contracts declaratively (e.g., YAML) as version-controlled, enforceable artifacts • Exposure to cybersecurity environment (preferred) • Only U.S. citizens are eligible for this position • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability Determination
