📋 Description

• Define product deployment use cases and architectures for optical interconnect and switch/router families • Work with Sales and Systems Engineering teams and drive Engineering Test and Validation activities • Develop, deploy, and maintain application notes and white papers • Build proof-of-concept infrastructure for high-performance optical interconnect and systems • Create tools for deployment rules and optical configurations across DWDM technologies • Maintain internal and external documentation for Data Center, ML/AI, and scale deployment scenarios • Create web-based tools for valid Arista product and optics configurations across switch and router generations • Support technical conference demonstrations through configuration definition, equipment setup, logistics, and demonstration materials • Attend conferences to support shows as required • Write and maintain Python-based test automation for lab instruments, test flows, and result logging • Set up and run optical/electrical tests using BERTs, power meters, spectrum analyzers, OTDRs, and oscilloscopes • Validate DWDM single- and multi-span systems • Analyze test data, identify trends, troubleshoot failures, and improve reliability • Build test procedures, troubleshooting guides, and onboarding documentation • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and operations teams to align test systems with production goals

🎯 Requirements

• Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related technical field • 5 years of experience with optical networking and DWDM design and deployment • Understanding and analysis of DWDM signal propagation, simulation, and multi-span amplified systems • Strong writing and presentation skills • Practical knowledge of Ethernet, DWDM, and coherent optical technologies • Hands-on experience with OTDR, OSA, BERT, optical power meters, oscilloscopes, and similar optical test equipment • Extensive experience with traffic generators and network protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark, Ixia, and Spirent • Experience in system testing, scripting such as Python or TCL, and/or new product introduction • Experience testing coherent and IMDD transponders/transceivers, optical amplifiers, optical mux/demux, and other optical system building blocks • Understanding of Pre-FEC BER, OSNR, chromatic dispersion, and polarization mode dispersion • Clear communication and collaborative approach • Curious, hands-on mindset and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies
