• Provide learning experiences in classroom, online, and/or lab settings under supervision of the Dean of General Education • Use lectures, demonstrations, audiovisual aids, and technological aids • Follow an established curriculum/syllabus and keep students engaged • Create a positive educational climate and communicate clear learning objectives • Meet course and school-wide student performance goals • Manage student behavior in classroom/online settings • Observe and evaluate student performance • Identify and refer at-risk students to the Student Success Coordinator • Provide student advisement and academic counseling through tutoring and mentoring • Grade tests and projects, maintain grade books, track attendance, and perform administrative duties • Administer oral, written, or performance tests • Participate in conferences, seminars, training sessions, education in-services, and professional development activities • Provide input to and participate in academic committees • Perform other duties as assigned
• Masters’ degree or higher from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) required • A minimum of 15 credit hours or equivalent in the assigned subject area required • In Georgia, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia: Master’s degree in the discipline OR a Master’s degree in any discipline with 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework relevant to the discipline • Two years of practical experience in the course content area with a related degree, or three years of practical experience if the degree is in an unrelated field required • A minimum of three years of work experience as an educator preferred • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in English
