• Review HVAC design drawings, mechanical plans, specifications, control schematics, plumbing layouts, and P&ID diagrams to develop hydronic system solutions and ensure product selection and system integration • Support representative firms and consulting engineers with system optimization recommendations • Provide technical insight on pump control strategies, delta-T optimization, sensor placement, and operating cost improvement • Prepare technical documentation and proposals for Armstrong offerings • Participate in site walk-throughs, customer meetings, and design reviews alongside sales personnel • Deliver technical presentations and walk-back sessions to consulting engineers and contractors • Explain complex system interactions and Armstrong product integration into HVAC system architectures • Translate field data and project requirements into design strategies and technical proposals • Use selection tools to generate proposals, energy models, and quotations • Assist the Territory Lead in reviewing CRM opportunities, sizing, controls compatibility, and application viability • Configure and document proposed systems based on customer specifications and field conditions • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering on custom application reviews and edge-case analysis • Participate in RSEC team discussions and alignment meetings across the Americas • Support special technical projects assigned by management • Create and refine internal technical materials, FAQs, and best-practice guides
• College diploma or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or a closely related field • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or mechanical systems design, focused on HVAC hydronics and plumbing applications • Minimum of 1 year in a customer-oriented technical role, such as internal sales engineering, technical field service, or application support • Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, control schematics, and hydronic system documentation • Ability to read and analyze control schematics, plumbing risers, and hydronic layouts • Understanding of district energy applications and central plant systems, including variable-speed pumping, thermal storage, heat exchangers, and control loops • Familiarity with HVAC energy strategies such as ASHRAE 36, reset schedules, delta-T management, and decoupling techniques • Proficiency with selection software tools and Microsoft Office • Technically articulate with excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently on complex engineering problems and contribute to cross-functional teams • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and project follow-through • Ability to support conversations with engineers and contractors and adapt communication style to the audience
• Remote work arrangement • Compensation of $100k to $115k DOE
