📋 Description

• Assist product design and development teams in securing connected and IoT medical devices • Participate in architecture reviews • Groom product security requirements • Test products for vulnerabilities • Document Secure Product Development Framework steps for global regulatory submissions • Design security architecture for components or functional systems • Modify existing designs to develop or improve products • Recommend development and design alterations to improve product security • Consider application interactions with underlying infrastructure and external resources • Develop threat scenarios and responses for associated vulnerabilities • Maintain design history files in accordance with Arthrex design control procedures • Determine the need for security testing and initiate testing of assigned products • Provide technical support to Regulatory for assigned projects • Support Marketing and Product Management with technical information for training and marketing • Support Software Engineering in designing and developing components, processes, and training using Security-by-Design and Privacy-by-Design principles • Educate and demonstrate security-focused product aspects to surgeon and distributor customers during the sales process • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy, and Information Security to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies • Report project progress and status in a timely manner

🎯 Requirements

• 8 years of related experience • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical or Software Engineering), Computer Science, Information Security, or Cybersecurity • Background in electrical engineering or software system design • Experience securing and pen-testing embedded or IoT devices • Knowledge of System and Software Development Processes and Lifecycles • Knowledge of application security best practices • Knowledge of FDA and ISO guidelines for the development of medical devices • Experience leading strategic discussions addressing business and technical risks • Proficiency in developing threat scenarios and risk mitigation techniques • Proficiency in applying privacy-by-design principles • Strong project management and communication skills preferred • Experience in web application security and controls concepts preferred • Experience in embedded system development, IoT lifecycle, real-time operating systems, firmware, RFID, CANbus, WiFi, or Bluetooth LE preferred • Ideally located in the Pacific or Mountain time zones or open to working during those hours • May be required to travel, including internationally
