📋 Description

• Assist researchers with experimental design, sampling and data collection methods, and sample size determination • Manage and restructure research data, including identifying and correcting data errors • Perform statistical analysis and machine learning • Create data visualizations and graphics according to journal standards • Write and edit methods and results sections of manuscripts, grant proposals, and client documentation • Defend analytic approaches to journal reviewers • Lead methods and analysis components of grant proposals • Serve as lead statistician on funded research projects when appropriate • Help clients select appropriate software and hardware • Develop and teach workshops and one-on-one tutorials on research computing and statistical methods • Act as a subject matter expert for diverse campus clientele • Manage university software site licenses, including installation, testing, and documentation • Mentor and critique students' and colleagues' work • Provide guidance on complex statistical and computing problems • Contribute to departmental budgetary, research funding, and compliance discussions • Serve as backup for the manager when needed and influence departmental research strategy

🎯 Requirements

• Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, or a related field • Seven (7) years of experience applying statistics; years in graduate school may substitute only with extensive statistical consulting experience • Track record of publishing in peer-reviewed scientific journals • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and prioritize assignments with minimal supervision • Expertise in at least three of R, Python, SAS, SPSS, Stata, MATLAB, ArcGIS, and JMP • Deep knowledge of statistical and machine learning methods appropriate for peer-reviewed publications • Legally authorized to work full-time in the United States without current or future employment-based visa sponsorship • Occasional overnight travel
