• Lead strategy and investigation for complex professional liability and medical malpractice claims from initial report through final resolution • Direct external defense counsel on case action plans and ensure litigation follows organizational guidelines and protocols • Establish loss reserves and prepare National Claims Committee reports for significant high-exposure matters • Negotiate directly with plaintiff attorneys and represent the organization at mediations, trials, and depositions • Collaborate with Risk Management to turn claim outcomes into lessons learned that improve patient safety and reduce future liability
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree with 1 year of experience, or 5 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience • 2 years of leadership or management experience preferred • Experience investigating and managing complex professional liability and medical malpractice claims • Experience directing external defense counsel and managing litigation • Experience establishing loss reserves and preparing claims committee reports • Experience negotiating settlements and representing an organization at mediations, trials, and depositions • Experience collaborating with Risk Management on liability reduction and patient safety
