📋 Description

• Underwrite auto insurance policies within the non-standard market • Ensure adherence to state regulations and maintain high-quality standards • Compare customer documents and policies to verify eligibility • Compose business correspondence for supervisors, managers, and internal and external customers • Correspond with insureds or brokers to obtain information or inform them of policy activity • Examine applications, Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs), and other underwriting documents or reports to determine required changes • Modify, update, and process existing policies to reflect changes in coverage amount or insurance type • Notify appropriate parties about policy cancellations, requested documents, and other underwriting actions • Process policy cancellation requests in compliance with underwriting and state insurance regulations • Prepare and submit business and government forms • Communicate progress on ongoing tasks and projects to leadership • Manage priorities and perform multiple tasks while maintaining productivity and quality goals • Provide backup in phone queues during escalated call volumes • Comply with state and federal laws, Department of Insurance criteria, carrier policies, and company procedures • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • Previous experience in personal lines insurance, particularly in policy processing or underwriting, is preferred • Strong knowledge of insurance terminology, concepts, and coverage • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret industry periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations • Strong understanding of insurance principles, regulations, and underwriting guidelines • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and policy review • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and insurance software is preferred • Ability to adapt to new software programs and changes in technology • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule-based instructions • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with others • Ability to explain complex issues orally and in writing • Ability to receive and interpret complex information • Ability to consistently provide excellent client service • Must maintain prompt and regular attendance • Must be able to work mandatory overtime when deemed appropriate by management • Travel may be required • Must have a distraction-free home office or designated workspace conducive to remote work
