• Serve as AstraZeneca’s local medical voice in thoracic cancer and build a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes • Provide medical and scientific support for oncology marketed products, new indications, and compounds in development • Establish trusted scientific-advisor relationships with internal collaborators and external healthcare professionals • Respond to scientific questions and synthesize healthcare-professional insights across regional segments • Integrate scientific knowledge into business strategies, training, and resources • Synthesize research and communicate findings compellingly to healthcare-professional audiences • Collaborate across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Development • Drive guideline sharing and application within Field Medical Affairs processes • Lead clinical trials, research activities, and special projects • Coach team members in external business settings including academia, hospitals, managed markets, and private practices • Support team members’ creative and innovative ideas • Contribute to MSL training content and onboarding; serve as a buddy to new MSL hires • Lead MSL congress scientific coverage and data-synthesis support
• Advanced scientific degree required in a relevant health science or clinical discipline: PharmD, MD/DO, PhD, PA, NP, or BSN with extensive clinical experience • At least 2 years of MSL experience or related therapeutic experience • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for communicating scientific data to internal and external customers • Ability to work independently and in groups • Ability to navigate a matrixed environment • Demonstrated leadership, initiative, and problem-solving skills • Excellent project-management ability • Ability to travel 40–60% domestically by car and plane • Clinical-discipline MSL experience desirable • Oncology experience desirable • Demonstrated expertise delivering customer-related outcomes in a targeted field or territory desirable • Demonstrated ability to impact Medical Affairs and MSL strategies regionally desirable
