📋 Description

• Develop and implement access strategies supporting appropriate patient access to Alexion’s medicines across Kaiser Permanente’s integrated care and coverage model • Lead account strategy, planning, negotiations, and contracting with Kaiser Permanente national and regional stakeholders • Drive execution of brand access strategies across Kaiser Permanente affiliates and regions • Build and maintain relationships with senior medical, pharmacy, formulary, contracting, population health, and benefit leaders • Coordinate HEOR, Medical, field sales, contracting, patient services, and brand subject matter experts to communicate portfolio value • Develop holistic customer strategies covering health plan coverage, clinical pathways, formulary review, specialty pharmacy, infusion, provider-administered drugs, and member experience • Educate internal teams on Kaiser Permanente coverage policies, regional variation, formulary processes, benefit management, utilization management, and exception pathways • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to optimize access solutions for patients, providers, and care teams • Develop tailored solutions addressing product access, referrals, authorization, reimbursement, site-of-care, coding, and care coordination challenges • Identify threats and opportunities and coordinate execution against regional and national account priorities • Present product value, conduct disease-state education, engage in pre-approval information exchange, and negotiate contracts • Conduct periodic business reviews evaluating contract performance, access outcomes, policy implementation, utilization trends, and patient-access opportunities • Provide insights on Kaiser Permanente priorities, evidence needs, regional decision-making dynamics, and emerging access risks • Engage HEOR and Medical stakeholders in Kaiser Permanente meetings • Analyze market dynamics, integrated delivery network priorities, biosimilar and affordability strategies, utilization management, competitive behavior, and business impacts • Report to the Senior Director, Payer Account Team Lead

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of study • 10+ years’ experience in Market Access in the biopharmaceutical/pharmaceutical industry • 5+ years’ experience in an account management role with responsibility for national payer, integrated delivery network, health system, PBM, specialty pharmacy, or vertically integrated payer customers • Experience managing accounts involving Kaiser Permanente, integrated delivery networks, vertically integrated payers, national payer organizations, or PBM customers • Established relationships or demonstrated ability to build relationships with Kaiser Permanente national and regional medical, pharmacy, formulary, contracting, and population health stakeholders • Experience negotiating contracts with payers, integrated delivery systems, PBMs, specialty pharmacies, or regional health plans • Expert knowledge of U.S. managed markets, including commercial and government payers, integrated delivery networks, medical benefit management, pharmacy benefit management, and formulary decision-making • Demonstrated success securing appropriate coverage for specialty medicines under medical and pharmacy benefits • Excellent collaboration, written, and verbal communication skills • Ability to translate complex clinical and economic evidence for payer, pharmacy, medical, and internal audiences • Willingness to travel at least 60% of the time, including significant overnight and occasional weekend travel • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record • Ability to travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane • Ability to work comfortably in clinical or payer settings • Computer proficiency • Ability to communicate via phone, video, and electronic messaging • Ability to problem solve and engage in complex and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue • Ability to collaborate with others and maintain general availability during standard business hours • MBA, MPH, PharmD, or other advanced degree preferred • Experience securing access for rare disease medicines preferred • Understanding of reimbursement methodologies, prior authorization, exceptions, step therapy, formulary placement, site-of-care management, and payer coverage policies preferred • Clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge of complex disease states and rare disease therapeutic areas preferred • Experience developing and executing payer contracting strategies preferred • Experience securing rapid coverage for launches of new products and indications preferred
