• Design, develop, test, and maintain electrical systems and equipment • Design and analyze safety- and non-safety-related electrical systems for nuclear and commercial projects • Interface with mechanical, nuclear, operations, and electrical engineering teams on electrical design and consultation • Apply engineering methods, regulatory guidance, codes, standards, and engineering judgment to ensure compliant designs • Perform engineering calculations, including lighting, voltage drop, conductor sizing, and panel heat generation • Generate and review wiring diagrams, single-line drawings, loop diagrams, control architectural drawings and specifications, electrical and instrumentation specifications, data sheets, and control philosophy documents • Prepare design documents and plant modifications in coordination with designers • Develop, manage, and implement engineering analyses, activities, and programs to identify and resolve equipment and system problems • Use design criteria, specifications, procedures, codes, and site design, safety, and licensing bases in design media • Work in multidisciplinary project teams and integrate designs across disciplines • Mentor, guide, and perform quality reviews of junior colleagues' work • Check design media for accuracy and compliance with company policies and client expectations • Manage assigned schedules and initiate corrective measures to overcome delays • Recommend equipment, concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify designs, reduce costs, correct flaws, or meet changed requirements • Support installation and testing of site systems and components • Operate independently with minimal guidance • Perform other duties as assigned
• Bachelor's degree required in electrical engineering or related technical or engineering field • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience • Experience in nuclear industry highly desired • PE highly desired • Master’s degree preferred • Effective verbal and written communication skills • In-depth knowledge and experience required in electrical design • Experience leading electrical system design, including on-site distribution (AC and DC), off-site interfaces (switchyard), grounding and lightning protection, plant lighting systems, battery system design, communications systems, or diesel generators • Growing familiarity with nuclear regulatory guidance, such as NUREG-0800 Chapter 8 • Experience applying relevant codes and standards, including IEEE, IEC, and EPRI • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered • Familiarity with national codes and standards appropriate to electrical engineering
