📋 Description

• Develop relay settings and protection philosophies for distribution equipment, including transformers, bus, breaker control, distribution feeders, and related equipment • Review protection and control design packages • Provide remote field support to relay test engineers during installation of settings • Model electrical systems using power simulation programs such as CAPE, ASPEN, and CYME • Create technical reports, correspondence, documentation, and calculations • Continuously improve job-related engineering, technical, and professional knowledge, skills, and performance • Mentor and train less experienced engineers in power engineering theories and principles

🎯 Requirements

• BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering • 5+ years of experience developing relay settings and protection philosophies for transmission, sub-transmission or distribution equipment including transmission lines, transformers, bus, breaker control, capacitor banks, distribution feeders, etc. • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering theories and principles • Professional Engineering license in at least one state • Experience with 69kV viper recloser applications • Experience in IEC 61850 communication protocol • Advanced user of Microsoft products, specifically Excel, Word, and/or Access • Ability to plan and manage assignments and clearly communicate barriers to complete tasks on budget/schedule • Ability to use computer software tools to model engineering problems, program automation systems, prepare spreadsheet-based analyses and automation • Experience developing settings for Schweitzer relays • Ability to work remotely without supervision • Strong organizational skills • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
