📋 Description

• Perform engineering design, field work, and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer • Set, test, wire, and install relaying and control systems, specifically SEL equipment • Program, install, and test SCADA and PLC systems, primarily SEL RTACs • Produce configuration files for IEC61850 (GOOSE), DNP3, and other SCADA protocols • Prepare project specifications, RFIs, studies, documents, and reports • Design electrical power systems, including one-line and three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding, equipment selection, and equipment specifications • Perform SCADA and relay field testing and commissioning • Provide field assistance and troubleshooting for SEL RTAC, Ignition, and PLC systems • Check designers’, drafters’, and field service personnel’s work for quality and accuracy • Apply NEC, NESC, PRC, and other applicable codes and standards • Mobilize for field assignments to commission, inspect, or troubleshoot substation control systems • Assist with client contacts and communication for assignments and meetings • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution; electric power option preferred • 2–5 years of relevant engineering or field experience • FE is preferred • Knowledge and familiarity with medium and high voltage power systems, with strong knowledge in SCADA • SEL equipment installation and configuration; RTAC experience is a plus • Experience configuring, testing, and commissioning IEC61850, DNP3, MODBUS, and/or other SCADA protocols • Experience creating Network Architecture Diagrams • Experience with substation or data center medium voltage equipment is a plus • Proficiency with AutoCAD • Previous interactions with clients, customers, contractors and others • Ability to travel periodically for weeks across states for field work as needed • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • Effective written and oral communication skills • Good interpersonal and people skills
