📋 Description

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments across small parcel, LTL, FTL, and ocean transportation modes • Help vendors select transportation modes and route shipments using the Murdoch’s Routing Guide and approved carriers • Monitor purchase orders and inbound freight activity for routing needs • Review routing requests and follow up on missing information • Schedule freight pickups and delivery appointments • Maintain visibility of pending routing requests and support route planning, load scheduling, multi-stop deliveries, and backhaul opportunities • Track inbound shipments from pickup through final delivery using the TMS, spreadsheets, carrier systems, and other tools • Communicate shipment status, delays, and exceptions to buyers, vendors, carriers, stores, and distribution centers • Research delayed, damaged, missing, or misrouted shipments through resolution • Maintain transportation records, delivery dates, freight costs, shipment documentation, and import records • Track ocean containers and coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, drayage providers, carriers, and distribution centers • Serve as a day-to-day contact for transportation-related vendor questions and support vendor compliance and onboarding • Investigate missed pickups, delays, shortages, damages, overages, routing discrepancies, freight charge discrepancies, claims, and disputes • Maintain logistics spreadsheets, tracking tools, operational reports, and transportation records • Run daily, weekly, and monthly transportation reports • Assist with transportation process improvements, testing, special projects, carrier activities, and seasonal freight planning

🎯 Requirements

• Strong organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work independently in a self-directed remote or hybrid work environment while collaborating effectively with the Logistics Manager and other teams • Ability to analyze information, recognize missing details, and solve transportation-related problems • Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn transportation, routing, carrier operations, and supply chain processes • Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, customer service, retail, or distribution operations is preferred but not required • Experience with a TMS and knowledge of small parcel, LTL, FTL, and ocean transportation are preferred • Ability to travel occasionally as needed for meetings, training, and other activities • Sitting for long periods of time • Close vision for PC work • Repetitive hand and wrist movement on keyboard
