📋 Description

• Serve as a member of the technology and information security legal team • Support legal matters related to cloud technology, digital platforms and SaaS transactions • Support licensing and technology vendor agreements across Avantor’s enterprise • Work with IT, Privacy, Sourcing and Sales teams to enable technology use • Draft, review and revise routine and non-standard customer, supplier, distributor, clinical, service and consulting agreements • Learn and apply Avantor contracting policies when analyzing draft contracts • Advise Sourcing, Sales and IT on complex IT vendor agreements and digital product contracting • Develop and support playbooks and templates for consistent legal review • Assist with data processing agreement reviews • Ensure alignment with IT and business strategies • Escalate complex legal and factual issues to senior attorneys and assist in resolution • Create, implement and manage systems for efficient agreement creation, negotiation, oversight and execution • Coordinate contract negotiations across multiple departments • Obtain internal approvals for contract terms and provisions • Identify process improvement opportunities • Perform file management and records retention duties • Communicate legal risks and advise senior leadership on possible solutions • Provide assistance and guidance to Contracts Specialists • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5–10 years of applicable professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department • Experience handling multiple matters simultaneously and meeting quick turnaround deadlines • Ability to translate technical concepts into practical legal guidance • Excellent judgment and collaboration ability • Ability to initiate, embrace and drive change in a dynamic environment • Ability to work independently and in a team • Experience providing timely and strategic legal advice • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint • JD required from an accredited law school • Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the bar of at least one US state or the District of Columbia • Must meet local legal license requirements • Advanced contract negotiation abilities • Ability to communicate with senior leadership regarding legal risks and possible solutions
