📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain Glasscock School websites • Implement and maintain content management systems • Evaluate third-party modules for functionality, accessibility, security, and maintainability • Perform selected website administration duties for existing clients • Ensure web server and site technical performance • Create web pages and tools for Rice websites using core technologies • Create or modify clean, well-structured, SEO-friendly, documented code • Provide technical expertise in front-end and back-end web development • Support web infrastructure through end-user support, application maintenance, product evaluation, back-end development, and internal management tools • Interpret website design and layouts in a creative, contemporary, integrated manner • Ensure a consistent look and feel across devices and browsers • Optimize online content and collaborate with the content manager on animated GIFs, buttons, emails, and landing pages • Work with site architects to develop and document functional specifications based on stakeholder requirements • Support lifecycle implementation • Help develop and deploy CMS upgrade and migration plans • Standardize and systemize routine reports, dashboards, and metrics • Test prototype software and participate in approval and release processes • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree • Two (2) years of related professional experience in web development • U.S. work authorization required • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to develop web content management systems • Ability to develop complex websites and web applications using open-source tools, languages, libraries, and standards-compliant code • Knowledge of web content development and cloud services • Expert knowledge of front-end development languages and hand-coded HTML, CSS, and JavaScript • Understanding of web standards and usability methods • Expert knowledge of content management systems such as Drupal, including installation and configuration • Ability to write, compile, test, debug, and deploy software • Knowledge of web analytics tools and related analyses • Ability to design and manage relational databases • Ability to design and implement web services • Ability to interact positively with and build consensus among diverse colleagues, clients, and senior leadership • Cover letter and resume required in PDF format
