📋 Description

• Serve as the primary support to the Coding Supervisor • Assist in supervising coding, abstracting, and reimbursement supporting billing for all Baptist Health facilities • Ensure compliance and efficient operations • Ensure adherence to established goals, ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, CPT, and coding conventions • Monitor reports and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement, work volume, and distribution • Review and reconcile reports • Provide coding training within the Coding Department • Research coding issues • Monitor coding personnel activities to ensure accurate and timely processing in accordance with state and federal regulations

🎯 Requirements

• Associate degree • AHIMA Certified Coding Specialist • At least five years of Inpatient or Outpatient Surgery, Ancillary and Emergency Room coding experience in a large healthcare institution • Prefer RHIA or RHIT or equivalent experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Problem-solving and personnel management skills • Knowledge of health information systems, database management, spreadsheet design, and computer technology • Strong computer proficiency with MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within prescribed parameters, routines, and accepted practices
