• Oversee and personally execute electronic filing of pleadings, motions, and complex legal documents in federal, state, and appellate courts nationwide • Serve as the procedural expert for New York, New Jersey, and Delaware courts, including NYSCEF, eCourts, Delaware State Courts, the Delaware Court of Chancery, and U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts • Advise attorneys and paralegals on local court rules, judges’ practices, and filing requirements • Resolve electronic filing rejections, docketing discrepancies, and court platform issues • Assist case teams with State, Federal, and Pro Hac Vice bar admissions processes • Perform final quality control audits of pleadings and filings for formatting, redaction, signature, and exhibit compliance • Audit docket entries to verify dates, deadlines, and events • Calculate, verify, and enter litigation deadlines using court rules and rules-based calendaring • Review incoming litigation documents and enter deadlines, discovery schedules, and event reminders into docketing software • Alert attorneys and paralegals about urgent deadlines and communicate document receipts and filing confirmations • Conduct docket sweeps, data integrity audits, and case status reconciliations • Research litigants, cases, dockets, and judicial profiles using online legal databases • Prepare and distribute customized docket reports for legal teams across multiple offices
• 5+ years of recent litigation docketing and court filing experience within a mid-to-large law firm • Well-rounded national experience with specialized emphasis on New York, New Jersey, and Delaware county, state, and federal courts • Deep understanding of court structures, litigation lifecycles, and civil procedure • Mastery of New York, New Jersey, and Delaware state and federal court rules • Meticulous accuracy in reviewing legal documents and calculating statutory deadlines • Ability to prioritize multiple urgent filings and tasks under competing time constraints in a high-volume litigation environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Expert proficiency in rules-based docketing systems, especially Milana and/or CompuLaw • Extensive hands-on experience with PACER/ECF, NYSCEF, New Jersey eCourts, Delaware State Courts, Delaware Court of Chancery, U.S. District and Bankruptcy Courts, and Odyssey • Proficiency in iManage or a similar document management system • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional for document manipulation, splitting, and redaction • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook • Familiarity with State, Federal, and Pro Hac Vice bar admissions processes • Willingness to assist in training and mentoring junior docketing or filing personnel • Experience filing in state and/or federal court • Experience with electronic filing • Experience converting PDF documents to Word or cleaning scanned documents for editing
