📋 Description

• Manage the day-to-day accounting and financial activities of a portfolio of captive insurance companies • Act as focal contact person with senior management and clients • Perform general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and customized financial and management reporting • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statement packages under GAAP, SAP, and modified GAAP • Monitor cash activity, investment activity, and intercompany transactions • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and ad hoc financial analyses • Prepare and file premium tax returns, NAIC Blank Forms, and domicile-specific regulatory filings • Serve as primary accounting contact for regulatory matters across onshore and offshore domiciles • Lead audit preparation and substantive review activities • Coordinate with auditors, actuaries, tax advisors, regulators, investment managers, and bankers • Advise on accounting developments, investment regulations, and compliance considerations • Participate in client, shareholder, and Board of Director meetings • Present financial results and explain complex accounting matters to non-technical audiences • Support client retention through consistent service delivery and high-quality financial reporting • Utilize Acumatica, MAS 500, BizNet, Velixo, and Wings • Improve accounting processes, controls, efficiencies, documentation, and system consistency

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field • Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within captive insurance, insurance, or financial services • Strong knowledge of GAAP and insurance accounting principles • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with minimal supervision • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client service skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and enterprise accounting systems • CPA designation preferred • Experience with captive insurance companies and multiple regulatory domiciles preferred
