📋 Description

• Provide field-based, on-site support at customer locations throughout the Baltimore, Maryland and Washington, DC area • Lead customer relationships and achieve customer and BD goals • Identify, evaluate, resolve, or escalate customer pain points • Act as customer advocate and liaison to the BD organization • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and repair BD Lab Automation and other laboratory systems • Support KiestrA, Microbiology, Molecular, and LC/MS systems • Use appropriate tools, test equipment, electronic and computer skills, and schematic diagrams • Collaborate across service and support teams to drive field-service revenue through billable preventive maintenance and equipment moves • Communicate work performed and provide follow-up plans • Proactively schedule and complete system upgrades with customers • Report and document customer complaints in systems of record • Maintain spare-parts inventory, company-issued vehicle, laptop, tools, and test devices • Use company credit card appropriately and follow expense guidelines • Travel for scheduled and unscheduled visits, overnight stays, and occasional national assignments • Participate in weekend/holiday on-call rotation approximately every six weeks • Maintain a professional appearance

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electronic Technology, Computer Science, Biomedical or other related disciplines OR 10+ years of relevant experience in troubleshooting and/or repair of complex electro-mechanical, electronic, computer, or electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or military settings required • Understanding of electronics, electro-mechanical devices (Mechatronics), PLCs, and pneumatics • Intermediate knowledge of information systems networking architecture design and set up • Intermediate understanding of computer software operating systems and ability to work with customer IT personnel and lab leadership on software upgrades and maintenance • Expertise in Robotics preferred • Experience with Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Mass Spec (MS) instrumentation preferred • Knowledge of Lab Information Systems (LIS) and database management preferred • A+, Microsoft or Cisco accreditation advantageous • Understanding of basic computer security concepts and standard processes • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Outstanding customer service and soft skills • Must possess and maintain a valid state-issued Real ID driver's license with at least 3 years of driving history and meet BD's auto safety standards • Must participate in vendor credentialing programs and complete requirements to access customer facilities • Must have a Real ID • Ability to lift 30 to 40 lb. objects from floor to chest level • Ability to turn manual sockets, crescent wrenches, and screwdrivers repeatedly over an 8-to-10-hour day • Ability to sit, kneel, squat, bend, and stand repeatedly during an 8–10-hour period • Ability to push and pull objects weighing up to 70 lbs • Ability to perform fine motor tasks while reaching over an 8-to-10-hour day • Ability to carry a 30 lb. pack for up to 1 hour • Ability to drive up to 6 hours and in adverse weather conditions • Able to climb portable ladders and step stools • Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and annual spirometry if required
