📋 Description

• Assess adolescent and adult patients' mental and physical status • Diagnose psychiatric disorders and mental health conditions • Distinguish physiologically- and psychologically-based disorders • Conduct individual psychotherapy for chronic or acute mental disorders • Order diagnostic tests such as EKGs and lab work • Prescribe psychotropic medications, including controlled substances • Educate patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications, risks, benefits, and side effects • Monitor medication usage, side effects, results, and treatment response • Verbally deescalate difficult patients when necessary • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans • Document medical and psychological histories, assessments, diagnoses, prescriptions, treatment plans, and outcomes in the EHR • Complete administrative patient-care documentation, including FMLA and other approved forms • Schedule and coordinate follow-up appointments and ongoing treatment • Practice in compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, national standards of care, and internal policies • Consult recommended references and Clinical/Medical Directors for clinical guidance

🎯 Requirements

• 2 years experience practicing as a Nurse Practitioner • Currently holds a Board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner license (PMHNP) • Experience in Addiction and Mental Health • Open to obtaining additional state licensures • Motivational Interviewing experience • Willingness to work in partnership with the client to achieve goals • Must have experience working with adults in need of general mental health and/or severe mental illness (SMI) treatment • Must have experience and comfort working with patients across the lifespan (ages 13yrs+) • Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and/or substance abuse dual-diagnoses • Treatment planning • Ability to conduct and utilize comprehensive assessments • Timely and quality documentation; experience with EHRs • Adaptable to technology including telehealth software; comfortable with video communication • Awareness of and compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 • Eligibility to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship or assistance with work eligibility • For clinicians holding a Florida or New York license, an active DEA registration is required and must be obtained and maintained by the clinician • Spanish-speaking and proficiency in other languages are preferred/plus • Previous telehealth experience preferred • Previous experience within the Community Mental Health sector preferred
