📋 Description

• Write data workflows according to design specifications and complete complex development work • Design and code features, automated tests, scripts, and data models using data management and governance tools • Recommend and implement technical data products and solutions addressing business needs • Contribute to system architecture and design while collaborating with technical leadership • Build and support enterprise-class data capabilities through resilient pipelines and scalable cloud-based data solutions • Design and develop complex, multi-tier cloud-native data solutions and integration services • Develop batch, near real-time, and API-based data integrations • Design and support prototypes, proofs of concept, and scalable data solutions • Implement metadata management, master data policies, data quality standards, lineage, and governance practices • Organize and guide data curation policies across platforms and workflows • Support, mentor, organize, and coordinate small to medium-sized data engineering teams • Partner with architects, product owners, and leadership on technology roadmaps, cloud modernization, and future-state data platform strategies • Contribute to coding standards, CI/CD, automated testing, and code quality initiatives • Support monitoring and observability for pipeline performance and reliability • Use automation and AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot • Collaborate with architecture, governance, security, and platform engineering teams • Present technical topics, lead solution discussions, communicate recommendations and tradeoffs, and mentor engineers • Perform responsibilities in accordance with BECU competencies, compliance, regulatory, and Information Protection requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience • Minimum 5 years of functional experience in data engineering • Minimum 4 years of experience in coding languages like Python, Scala, Java, SQL • Demonstrated experience using cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or GCP • Demonstrated experience using modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, BigQuery, or Snowflake • Demonstrated experience using ETL/ELT, SQL, cloud data integration tools, and Azure Services including Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Event Hubs, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Container Apps, and API Management • Demonstrated experience with SQL, data modeling, data warehousing, data analysis, and enterprise-scale ODS, data warehouses, and data lake/Lakehouse solutions • Experience using CI/CD systems and tools such as Azure DevOps and GitHub • Experience using Git, code reviews, pull requests, and branching standards such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development • Leading design discussions with teams to improve long-term solution design • Knowledge of financial services industry concepts, regulations, and data domains • Experience building AI-ready data products and supporting AI agent architectures • Experience with GitHub Copilot, Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Search, Copilot Studio, AI Foundry, MCP integrations, or related AI technologies • Experience with master data management, metadata, data quality, data lineage, impact analysis, data cataloging, and governance tools • Experience in Test Driven Development, unit testing, integration testing, or performance/load testing • Ability to deliver highly scalable data solutions across the data lifecycle • Ability to stay current with emerging technologies • Experience leading and collaborating within teams through all aspects of the SDLC and AI best practices • Experience presenting to technically adept audiences
