Belite Bio is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing novel therapeutics based on its RBP4 (Retinol Binding Protein 4) intellectual property portfolio. Its lead candidate, tinlarebant (LBS-008), is an oral therapy designed to reduce toxic accumulations in the eye and is being developed for retinal degenerative diseases including autosomal recessive Stargardt disease (STGD1) and Geographic Atrophy (advanced dry age-related macular degeneration). Belite Bio is conducting multiple clinical trials (Phase 1b/2, Phase 2/3, and Phase 3 programs such as DRAGON, DRAGON II, and PHOENIX) and tinlarebant has received several regulatory designations (Orphan Drug in US/EU/Japan, Rare Pediatric Disease, Breakthrough Therapy, Fast Track, and Sakigake). The company’s pipeline also includes programs addressing metabolic and liver diseases (e. g. , non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and type 2 diabetes).

📋 Description

• Support launch activities for the company’s first potential US commercial product in inherited retinal diseases • Deliver expert clinical, scientific, and technical education to the Ophthalmology community in the assigned region • Represent Belite as a scientific and technical expert on clinical and research programs and relevant Ophthalmology disease-state areas • Collaborate with medical affairs, clinical development, and commercial teams as a scientific resource to HCPs, payers, and formulary decision makers • Participate in scientific exchange through one-to-one engagement, payer presentations, and Medical Affairs Booth coverage in a compliant manner • Respond to and document unsolicited requests for information on Belite clinical and research programs • Develop a KOL engagement plan and build long-term collaborative relationships with HCPs in the assigned region • Provide internal medical and clinical teams with feedback and insights from HCP interactions • Support scientific expertise needs including employee training, medical materials review and creation, and other projects • Collaborate with US Market Access & Reimbursement and Commercial colleagues on thought leader and institutional engagement

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced Scientific or Clinical degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required • 2+ years’ experience in medical affairs strongly preferred • Ophthalmology (preferably retina) experience required • Medical genetics and/or rare disease experience highly desirable • Strong scientific understanding of Ophthalmology, particularly retinal diseases, retinal imaging modalities, and genetic testing • Ability to quickly become a subject matter expert in Belite clinical and research programs • Comfortable presenting clinical data and answering scientific questions from HCPs and payers accurately and compliantly • Ability to maintain cross-functional relationships while observing compliance boundaries • Knowledge of the US healthcare and access landscape, specialty pharmacy models, payer dynamics, and the drug-diagnostic interface • Demonstrated reliability against goals and motivation to meet or exceed metrics and KPIs • Ability to travel frequently within the US, occasionally on weekends as needed • Excellent communication, scientific storytelling, and interpersonal skills • High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust with KOLs, internal partners, and cross-functional colleagues • Solutions-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable in an emerging fast-moving biotech environment • Ability to operate with integrity and compliance • Authorization to work in the United States is requested in the application
