📋 Description

• Understand and empathize with users and their goals • Work with product owners and stakeholders to develop and validate research plans and hypotheses • Apply qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, surveys, card sorting/tree testing, and usability testing • Schedule and facilitate user interviews and usability testing • Analyze research findings to create actionable insights and collaborate with designers to translate them into product features • Communicate research insights to product owners and stakeholders • Reduce ambiguity through quantitative and qualitative research • Define success metrics with the team to evaluate product performance after release • Communicate or demonstrate issues succinctly and guide the team toward feasible, viable, and highly usable solutions • Work as part of an agile software development team in cross-functional collaboration • Translate complex policy documents into technical requirements • Contribute to modernization of CMS’s Unified Case Management system supporting Medicare and Medicaid program integrity efforts

🎯 Requirements

• US Citizenship or Green Card only; sponsorship is not offered • US Residency for at least the past 3 years • Able to meet the requirements to hold a position of Public Trust, including successful completion of a US Government background investigation • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in service design, UX research, or human-centered design • Experience conducting research with technical audiences and translating findings into product requirements • Case study or portfolio detailing successful product design work and demonstrating sound UX research skills • Previous experience working in Civic Tech (nice to have) • Experience with Confluence and Jira (nice to have) • Experience with CMS (a plus) • Proficiency in Figma (nice to have)
