📋 Description

• Own Billtrust’s end-to-end billing operations and revenue recognition function • Manage day-to-day global revenue accounting operations and monthly close under ASC 606, U.S. GAAP, and company policies • Automate manual revenue processes and support transition toward accrual-based close methodologies • Review and document accounting conclusions for standard and non-standard customer contracts, including SSP studies, contract modifications, and principal-versus-agent considerations • Advise on revenue recognition implications during contract negotiations and partner with Sales and Legal on compliant deal structures • Lead billing operations covering new deals, subscription renewals, usage billing, and overages • Monitor billing metrics, identify trends and risks, and use AI tools to detect anomalies and accelerate reconciliation • Resolve complex billing and customer issues through cross-functional collaboration • Partner with FP&A on revenue trends, anomalies, board-level materials, and reporting commentary • Design and enhance SOX-compliant internal controls and prepare documentation for external revenue audits • Advise Accounting Leadership on complex revenue matters and represent Billing/Revenue in technology-stack evaluations • Lead a global team of 11, including two U.S.- and India-based people managers • Hire, train, retain, and develop accounting and billing professionals • Build AI-assisted workflows, set performance goals, conduct reviews, and develop career paths

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in revenue recognition and billing operations • Extensive technical accounting knowledge of ASC 606 in a SaaS environment • Knowledge of contract modifications, principal-versus-agent considerations, and SSP studies • Experience managing people managers and building teams of at least 10, including distributed/global teams • Experience with billing and ERP systems such as BillingPlatform, Sage Intacct, or equivalent • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce • Track record designing and implementing SOX-compliant internal controls in a quote-to-cash environment • Track record driving AI adoption across a team or function • Superior written and verbal communication skills • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting preferred • Big 4 public-company audit experience preferred • Prior ERP or billing-platform evaluation/migration experience preferred • Ability to prioritize and delegate in a fast-paced environment preferred
