📋 Description

• Own and execute revenue recognition activities under ASC 606, including reviewing complex customer contracts, SOWs, amendments, and non-standard deal structures • Perform and oversee monthly revenue close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses • Serve as a primary escalation point for revenue-related judgment calls and provide policy-grounded recommendations • Partner with Billing to align invoicing and revenue recognition and resolve discrepancies • Lead monthly analytical reviews of revenue trends, anomalies, and risks • Collaborate with FP&A to improve revenue forecasting and explain variances • Partner with Business Systems on revenue-impacting system changes, enhancements, and implementations • Drive process documentation, standardization, and automation initiatives • Maintain and enhance revenue accounting policies, templates, and playbooks • Support external audits by owning revenue-related audit areas and responding to auditor inquiries • Mentor junior accounting team members • Contribute to systems, process optimization, and accounting policy special projects

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or a closely related role • Strong, hands-on knowledge of ASC 606 • Ability to apply ASC 606 guidance to complex, real-world scenarios • Understanding of point-in-time versus over-time revenue recognition patterns and how contract terms affect revenue timing • Working experience with ERP and billing systems • Ability to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities during close cycles, and exercise sound accounting judgment • Strong analytical skills • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills • Comfort partnering with non-accounting stakeholders • Process-oriented mindset with experience documenting decisions, improving workflows, and reducing recurring issues
