• Develop and implement regional field medical strategies with Nephrology Medical Directors, brand teams, clinical partners, and cross-functional stakeholders • Translate enterprise and brand objectives into actionable plans for the MSL team • Establish and monitor KPIs measuring MSL impact and execution • Maintain therapeutic-area, product, competitive, regulatory, and treatment-guideline knowledge to inform strategy • Prioritize and reprioritize field activities in response to scientific, regulatory, or market changes • Lead operating rhythms, review field metrics and KPI dashboards, and conduct data-driven coaching • Manage, coach, and develop MSLs through territory coaching and bi-annual territory reviews • Ensure MSL clarity on medical strategy, engagement plans, KPIs, and expectations • Build a positive, inclusive, high-engagement culture and be accountable for team performance • Oversee compliant collection and quality of Voice of KOL insights • Ensure effective use of Veeva, OLA, and other field tools and systems • Drive adoption of approved tools, processes, and field best practices • Communicate medical insights to internal stakeholders for cross-functional strategy and planning • Serve as primary regional field medical liaison across Medical, MDO, and cross-functional partners • Articulate the medical strategy’s value proposition to leadership and stakeholders • Educate and mentor internal stakeholders on therapeutic insights and strategic trade-offs • Contribute to cross-therapeutic-area best-practice and lessons-learned sharing
• 7+ years of Medical Affairs experience, including MSL experience • Medical strategy experience highly preferred • Advanced scientific or clinical degree required; doctoral level preferred (e.g., MD, PhD, PharmD, DNP) • Demonstrated leadership and management of effective Medical Affairs teams • Excellent communication and formal presentation skills • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage several projects simultaneously • Ability to travel 60% of the time, including overnight and occasional weekend travel • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record • Authorization and ability to drive a company leased vehicle or rental • Clinical experience and subject matter expertise in Nephrology preferred • 2+ years’ experience managing field-based pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry employees preferred • Experience navigating an ultra-competitive disease state preferred • Clinical training and work experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, and/or biotechnology industry
