📋 Description

• Serve as the single point of accountability for assigned BESS development projects from commercial handoff through Financing Ready/NTP • Lead and operationally manage cross-functional pods of subject matter experts • Balance schedule, budget, risk, customer commitments, technical requirements, and investment returns • Assess commercial, technical, permitting, procurement, schedule, and financial risks and implement mitigation strategies • Recommend project continuation, hold, restructuring, or termination decisions • Deliver financeable, construction-ready projects and transition them to the PMO • Own integrated development plans and direct execution across Engineering, Land Development, Legal, Procurement, Analytics, and other SMEs • Align priorities, resolve issues, and drive accountability toward development milestones • Coordinate with Capital Markets to align project delivery with financing strategy • Own development budgets and authorize expenditures within delegated authority • Preserve project economics, including IRR and LNPV, while coordinating procurement and financing readiness • Maintain each project’s unlevered financial model with support from Analytics • Engage with customers, landowners, utilities, AHJs, and community stakeholders • Represent Convergent externally and negotiate commercial matters within delegated authority • Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior-level staff

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field • Minimum of 8 years of experience developing renewable energy or BESS projects and bringing them to completion • Strong commercial, financial, project management, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority • Experience managing development budgets, schedules, and project economics • Ability to perform physical activity as applicable, including standing, walking, or lifting up to 50 lbs • Alignment with Convergent’s mission and values and strong interest in the Clean Energy Transition • 25% travel expected, primarily for team events and company-wide meetings • Ability to travel to remote sites, including by driving or air travel • Proficiency with Smartsheet, Microsoft Excel, and basic project modeling strongly preferred
