It aims to ensure that Black voters are recognized and valued not only on election days but throughout the entire electoral cycle, promoting authentic messaging that resonates with their issues and hopes, while also emphasizing the critical role of Black women in leadership and advocacy.

📋 Description

• Lead the Black Voters Matter Development team • Increase financial support of BVM Fund (C4) and BVM Capacity Building Institute (C3) • Direct fundraising activities, including donor database oversight and management, grant writing management, fundraising events, and donor and institutional prospecting and cultivation • Develop and oversee national and state-specific fundraising and development strategies and campaigns • Increase BVM’s donor base, grant opportunities, and resource partnerships • Track and assess major and minor fundraising metrics • Hold large and small fundraising events • Create and monitor a major gifts system • Identify, vet, cultivate, and maintain relationships with donors, influencers, foundations, and funds aligned with BVM’s mission • Oversee the institutional giving program and grant submission process • Coordinate with the communications team to create fundraising messaging and materials across social media, texting, email, print, and radio • Oversee creation of publications supporting fundraising opportunities • Ensure grant, leadership, board, budget, and impact reports are prepared and submitted accurately and on time • Oversee hiring of development staff and supervise the development team • Provide training on fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation to community and BVM partnership infrastructure • Report to the Executive Director

🎯 Requirements

• At least 8 years of relevant executive-level experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, grant writing and management, development administration, and supervision of a team in a mid-size to large non-profit organization • Preferably experience focused on racial justice, voting and equity, with a budget of five to ten million or more • Knowledge of donor databases and donor tracking is required • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, specifically Mail Merge using Excel and Word • Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced and collaborative team environment • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly • Excellent writing skills • Commitment to progressive causes • Donor-centered approach with commitment to excellent customer service • Strong writing and verbal communications skills • Ability to give presentations • High attention to detail • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time • Applicant must reside in Atlanta, GA
