📋 Description

• Review and clinically verify new and refill prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, drug interactions, contraindications, and dosing accuracy • Validate pharmacy technician prescription data entry • Verify filled prescriptions for drug, dose, quantity, NDC, and labeling accuracy before shipment • Perform daily prospective drug utilization review and resolve clinical flags • Manage specialty medication handling, including cold-chain verification • Provide outbound patient counseling calls covering drug education, side effects, dosing, storage, and adherence • Handle inbound clinical patient calls and direct non-clinical inquiries to patient support • Document patient interactions in the pharmacy management system • Provide bilingual counseling to Spanish-speaking patients where applicable • Contact prescribers to clarify incomplete, ambiguous, or clinically inappropriate prescriptions • Collaborate on therapeutic substitutions, DAW overrides, and formulary alternatives • Supervise pharmacy technicians and conduct real-time quality checks • Escalate technician performance trends and participate in coaching and training • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state pharmacy practice acts, federal DEA regulations, and company policies • Oversee PHI handling, documentation, and destruction • Participate in audits, prescription error tracking, near-miss reporting, and pharmacovigilance • Maintain temperature-sensitive medication storage compliance • Collaborate with pharmacy leadership, patient services, clinical, compliance, technology, shipping, and fulfillment teams • Provide clinical input on technology enhancements and workflow tools • Participate in huddles, quality reviews, and department meetings

🎯 Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy • Active Missouri Pharmacy License in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy • Strong command of the English language, written and verbal • Demonstrated ability to perform high-volume prescription verification with strong attention to detail and accuracy • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn pharmacy management systems, verification platforms, and internal workflow tools • Bilingual Spanish preferred for phone-based patient counseling • 3+ years of experience in a mail order, specialty, retail or closed-door fulfillment pharmacy preferred • Active pharmacy licensure required in home state; candidates must obtain licensure in 3 additional states from the listed states within the first 9 months of hire • Familiarity with pharmacovigilance or adverse drug event reporting protocols preferred
