📋 Description

• Provide advice and consultation supporting the positive associate relations strategy for the Bon Secours Mercy Health Toledo market • Investigate complex and/or high-level-risk associate relations issues • Establish investigation plans, gather facts, interview witnesses, review similar cases, and determine appropriate action • Handle complex and emotionally charged issues objectively and without bias • Manage disciplinary action and termination disputes through grievance procedures and Ministry policy administration • Collaborate with stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive matters • Recommend policy changes and improvements to unproductive internal processes • Prepare detailed responses and exhibits for the EEOC or state equal employment opportunity commissions • Support labor relations functions, including grievance responses, arbitration, collective bargaining, and labor-management meetings • Advise managers on diagnosing and resolving issues through questioning, risk assessment, HR knowledge, policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable law • Interpret and apply federal and state labor and employment laws, regulations, and standards • Identify risk and potential company liability and obtain legal counsel when warranted

🎯 Requirements

• 4 year/Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field • 5–7 years’ experience in Human Resources, including recent employee relations investigations experience • Excellent customer service, communication, interpersonal, listening, oral, and written communication skills • Ability to probe based upon responses provided • Ability to organize and present information clearly and concisely • Ability to build rapport and communicate challenging information effectively • Skilled at interviewing employees, witnesses, and supervisors • Experience preparing detailed documentation and maintaining files for potential future claims • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills • Ability to maintain highly confidential information • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality • Knowledge of federal and state employment law • Preferred: Graduate Degree (Masters) in Human Resources or related field • Preferred: SPHR certification • Preferred: 5+ years’ experience in Employee and Labor Relations; or 3+ years of related Human Resources experience; or proven record of business management experience
