• Perform QA/QC inspections of commercial, residential, and industrial building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural components • Perform building assessment projects, including data aggregation, facility equipment bar coding, housing data collection, parking lot studies, and surveys • Conduct walk-through surveys of accessible and visible building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exteriors, roofs, and pavement • Collect data from equipment plates and enter it into web-based programs • Photograph equipment, tags, site features, and building features • Evaluate equipment condition and apply bar codes to identified equipment • Review plans, construction documents, scopes of work, property records, maintenance records, inspection reports, warranties, and repair/improvement costs • Advance after training and onsite experience to complex assessments such as Property Condition Assessments, ADA checklists, and environmental data collection • Prepare written reports accurately describing findings according to ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and other electronic devices and software • Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions • Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and standards including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME • Communicate inspection results and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to maintain inspection consistency and quality control • Maintain project communication with senior management and report deployment issues or potential problems • Meet productivity and report-quality objectives • Deliver timely customer service and proactive solutions to clients • Follow company policies, SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and BV quality standards • Maintain confidential company information • Work overtime when authorized by a supervisor or Program Management • Travel 75–90% of the time to client/project sites across the U.S.; onsite visits may last up to three continuous weeks
• High school diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required; some college preferred • Minimum of 3 years related experience • Certified Home Inspector or InterNACHI certification required • Valid driver's license required with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points/violations • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures • Ability to present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Ability to interpret varied instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables • Time management, active listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Oral and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safely • Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service • Must meet the physical demands of the job, including walking, standing, climbing, crouching, lifting up to 40 pounds, operating tablets/computers, and safely operating a motor vehicle • Ability to successfully work from a remote location • Travel by plane, motor vehicle, or train to client sites across the U.S. required • Overnight stays away from home required during onsite deployments
