• Perform QA/QC inspections of building systems, including electrical, mechanical, fire and life safety, and structural components • Perform building assessment projects including data aggregation, equipment bar coding, housing data collection, parking lot studies, and surveys • Conduct walk-through surveys of building equipment, systems, structures, foundations, interiors, common areas, exterior walls, windows, roofs, and pavement • Collect data from equipment plates, photograph equipment and tags, evaluate equipment condition, and apply bar codes • Gather photographic documentation and document site and building observations • Review plans, construction documents, scopes of work, and site conditions • Review repair and improvement costs, property records, maintenance reports, inspection reports, warranties, and construction drawings • Advance after training and on-site experience to completing PCAs, ADA checklists, and environmental data collection • Prepare written reports accurately describing findings according to ASTM standards using computers, iPads, and software • Conduct on-site inspections of building systems, structural integrity, and safety compliance • Identify deficiencies, hazards, and non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions • Prepare detailed reports with photographs and supporting documentation • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and industry standards including ASTM, NFPA, NEC, ICC, and ASME • Communicate inspection results and compliance issues to property owners, contractors, and stakeholders • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and inspectors to maintain inspection consistency and quality control • Maintain communication with senior management regarding issues and potential problems during site deployments • Meet productivity and report-quality objectives • Deliver timely customer service and proactive solutions to clients • Follow company policies, SOPs, work instructions, and safety procedures • Travel frequently to client and project sites across the U.S., typically 75–90% of the time, with onsite visits lasting up to three continuous weeks and overnight stays
• High school diploma OR General Education Diploma (GED) required; some college preferred • Minimum of 3 years related experience • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Valid driver's license required with no significant motor vehicle report (MVR) points/violations (clean driving record) • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, peers, and technical field staff • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables • Time management skills • Active listening skills • Critical thinking skills • Problem solving skills • Oral and written communication skills • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner • Must have a cell phone and supply your own internet service • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job • Ability to successfully work from remote location • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle with passengers • Travel by plane, motor vehicle, and train to client sites across the U.S. • Ability to lift or move occasionally up to 40 pounds • Ability to operate an electronic tablet in the field and a computer
