📋 Description

• Build and maintain a strong intellectual property portfolio supporting R&D, manufacturing and commercialization of biologics products • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders in discovery, research, manufacturing and development on patent, regulatory data exclusivity, trademark and other IP issues • Support corporate development, business development and research collaborations, including due diligence, contract drafting and negotiation, and alliance management • Monitor patent trends and case law developments in the US and major markets and adjust IP strategies • Advocate BeOne Medicines’ positions on IP government and regulatory policy matters • Conduct patent and prior art searches, competitive landscape analysis, patentability analysis and freedom-to-operate analysis • Review draft publications and presentations • Provide litigation support, including validity and non-infringement analysis

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctor from an accredited U.S. law school • Admitted to USPTO and at least one state bar • At least 7 years of relevant experience in biopharmaceutical intellectual property practice • Advanced degree in biological sciences preferred; Ph.D. preferred • Deep understanding of global biopharmaceutical patent law, regulatory data protection, regulations and best practices in the US and other major markets • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry and strong understanding of drug discovery, development, manufacturing and commercialization of biologics, small molecule and other types of drugs • Experience drafting patent applications and responses to patent office actions • Proven track record of patent portfolio development • Experience developing IP portfolios for ADC and/or cell and gene therapy assets preferred • Ability to collaborate and work independently while balancing competing priorities • Ability to understand complicated laws and regulations and translate them into practical, business-oriented legal counsel • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information and exercise discretion and judgment • Self-motivated, reliable and responsive • Ability to be flexible and accept new responsibilities as needed • Willingness to travel up to 5%
