📋 Description

• Own, support, and evolve the data warehousing, event ingestion, and Airflow orchestration production platforms from ideation through implementation and production support • Serve as subject-matter expert and mentor for analysts, business analysts, and engineers using the platforms • Own technology choices, strategic backlog, and priorities for the analytics platform surface • Provide ongoing production support and participate in an on-call rotation • Build a cost-attribution pipeline parsing Trino query logs and attributing AWS costs to reports, queries, users, and dbt models • Build a forecast-driven autoscaling control loop for the shared Trino cluster and dbt worker pool • Build and drive adoption of a production Gen AI system using natural-language-to-SQL or RAG over the data catalog, with LLM tool use, grounding, and cost guardrails • Deliver approximately 70% hands-on engineering work and 30% technical coordination with Finance, report owners, and cross-functional teams • Direct cross-team migrations or deprecations and modernize ingestion pipelines • Work with large teams and participate in weekly Finance/BizOps and Analytics cadences • Produce PR-level deliverables and author Claude Code skills

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience owning and supporting mission-critical applications and platforms in production • Deep experience with Kafka and streaming technologies and platforms • Experience with enterprise data technologies and platforms • Experience working with extremely large traffic and data volumes • Fluency in JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, and Go • Experience with open-source RDBMS and NoSQL databases • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and a broad range of AWS tools and services • Experience with forecast- or workload-driven infrastructure scaling on a shared platform • Production Gen AI experience including RAG design, vector/graph stores, and LLM tool use • Longer-term ML/AI experience such as ranking, recommendation, or comparable production ML • 0-to-1 delivery of a product with measurable early revenue or adoption • Lead-engineer experience modernizing an ingestion pipeline from a legacy provider to a cloud-native stack • Experience directing a cross-team migration or deprecation at senior-executive scope • Ability to learn quickly and work with large teams on large-scale systems • Cross-functional experience with Finance/BizOps and Analytics teams • Daily Claude Code use, skill authoring, and PR-level deliverables (hard requirement) • Bachelor's Degree • At least 6 years of software engineering experience, excluding internships • At least 1 year of cloud computing experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud • Preferred: Master's Degree • Preferred: 9+ years in JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, or Go • Preferred: 4+ years with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service • Preferred: 4+ years with open source frameworks • Preferred: 1+ years of people management experience • Preferred: 2+ years of Agile practices
