📋 Description

• Analyze and identify documentation needs based on services provided and coding queries. • Classify clinical documentation for tests, treatments, procedures, and other services. • Assign, edit, and track medical record deficiencies by responsible provider in the chart management system. • Review, upload, and process Health Maintenance results and Advance Care Planning Directives in Epic according to state guidelines. • Review clinical documentation for evidence of Diabetic Retinopathy and abstract components for Health Maintenance initiatives. • Perform HIM and coding support functions while contributing to established metrics, KPIs, and turnaround times. • Obtain and import documentation from internal and external sources to support accurate coding and billing. • Identify and escalate front-end or system workflow issues. • Collaborate with department leaders, clinical informatics, IT, coding, and HIM Optimization to resolve issues. • Validate deficiencies and chart completion status in the EHR for incomplete and delinquent documentation reporting. • Notify clinicians about incomplete documentation and inform leadership about accountability sanctions. • Verify presurgical H&Ps and other documents received through OnBase work queues and upload them to the EHR. • Incorporate clinical documentation from electronic and paper sources into EHR work queues and route it to clinicians. • Coordinate support activities and provide Epic Connect training and education during clinic transitions to Epic.

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent • Typically requires 1 to 2 years of experience in healthcare • Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision using critical thinking skills • Problem identification, problem-solving, and priority-setting skills • Proficient computer and keyboarding skills • Ability to learn Epic, OnBase, Solarity, Microsoft Office, legacy archives, Teams, and other electronic communication platforms • High attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to prioritize workload and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment • Ability to collaborate in a diverse team environment • Ability to adapt to changing tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills • Ability to safeguard protected health information and possess basic knowledge of HIPAA • Ability to operate necessary equipment and perform repetitive functions and hand movements
