CareQuest Institute for Oral Health is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving oral health equity and transforming the oral health care system. It advances access, integration, and quality through grants and philanthropy, policy and advocacy, research and analytics, workforce education (continuing education, webinars, and self‑paced courses), and capacity‑building partnerships with communities, providers, and policymakers. CareQuest focuses on system-level change — including medical-dental integration, Medicaid/Medicare policy, community fluoridation, and data-driven insights — to ensure oral health is accessible and equitable for historically marginalized populations.

📋 Description

• Lead development of public relations and policy content, including press releases, op-eds, policy briefs, articles, statements, talking points, blog posts, and executive communications • Translate complex policy, research, and advocacy topics into clear, compelling narratives for media, providers, policymakers, partners, and the public • Serve as the primary in-house resource for PR, policy, and other writing • Partner with marketing, communications, leadership, and programmatic teams to shape messaging and respond to emerging issues • Provide writing support for campaigns, web content, newsletters, and other marketing and communications channels • Draft and refine media-facing materials, including quotes, rapid-response statements, key messages, and background materials • Collaborate with subject matter experts, executives, and partners to develop authoritative content • Support strategic communications planning and identify opportunities for earned media, policy engagement, and thought leadership • Coordinate with external partners and agencies, reviewing deliverables and ensuring alignment with strategy and messaging • Monitor and assess PR and policy content performance and refine messaging • Establish and maintain content standards and processes • Perform other duties as needed or required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field • Demonstrated background in public policy writing • 5+ years of related experience developing and delivering content across a broad range of platforms and formats • Exceptional communication and strategic thinking skills • Ability to translate complex concepts into easily digestible and compelling content • Ability to translate data into meaningful insights to influence content creation • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks with tight deadlines • Experience in the health care industry • Strong understanding of the US policy environment • Preferred: experience in or knowledge of the oral health industry • Preferred: experience creating content using an industry-advancing voice and positioning • Master's degree in a relevant field preferred • Ability to travel as projects dictate • Ability to operate job-related office equipment • Ability to communicate via telephone and work in virtual teams • Ability to work in a dynamic environment • Ability to comply with applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical standards
