📋 Description

• Set the strategic direction for actuarial science, drive innovation, and produce insights that improve company performance • Oversee pricing, forecasting, month-end close activities, performance monitoring, assumptions, accruals, and financial experience analysis • Develop activities that improve efficiency and affordability • Lead actuaries and ensure compliance with Actuarial Standards of Practice • Develop strategy and guide teams building statistical models for bid pricing, financial projections, contract modeling, and ad hoc projects • Hold internal stakeholders accountable for actuarial-function requests and key assumptions used across Finance and the organization • Identify and influence actuarial concepts and business drivers at Senior Management level for regulatory interactions • Lead new-business projects for the business development team when requested • Ensure integrity of federal and state rate filing requirements • Lead cross-functional opportunities where actuarial work supports corporate goals • Oversee analyst mentorship programs • Monitor and explain industry developments, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance • Recommend and operationalize strategies affecting functional objectives • Explain financial drivers for owned products and markets, including IBNR and other accruals • Engage trade associations, regulators, and external stakeholders on policy and legislative matters • Provide actuarial expertise to business, government affairs, compliance, legal, and other teams • Support organizational feedback, comments, and responses on proposed policy, legislation, and regulations • Perform other related duties as requested

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, or a related field required • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required • Ten years of decision support, financial analysis, or actuarial experience preferred • Five years of management experience preferred • Strong database experience with SAS or Access preferred • Managed Care or healthcare experience preferred • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent listening and critical thinking skills • Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism • Ability to manage, develop, and motivate staff • Ability to interact with all levels of management and external stakeholders • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Ability to report data, analyze facts, and exercise sound business judgment • Ability to identify and analyze problems, draw conclusions, develop and lead processes, and communicate status and results • Expert proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook • Advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, R, or other data manipulation software preferred • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) preferred • Ability to work in a general office environment and sit or stand for extended periods • Up to 15% occasional travel may be required
