📋 Description

• Provide additional assistance in monitoring patients for safety risks and preventing harm • Ensure patient safety by providing a safe environment • Directly observe identified patients throughout the assigned shift • Provide activities for patient entertainment and treatment purposes • Remove potentially dangerous items from patient rooms and surroundings • Implement patient safety protocols • Assist patients with routine activities, meal selection, tray setup, and phone calls • Notify nursing staff to assist with clinical activities • Coordinate care with appropriate hospital personnel • Report intake and output, patient observations, behavior, and behavior changes to the assigned RN • Document implementation and proof of observation of safety protocols on flow sheets • Ensure safety protocols are used according to policy

🎯 Requirements

• H.S. Diploma/GED (Required) • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training within 3 months • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days from the American Heart Association (AHA) • Ability to directly observe identified patients at all times during assigned shift • Ability to implement patient safety protocols for elopement risk, suicide risk, self-harm potential, fall risk, and risk of aggression • Ability to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality • Ability to coordinate care with hospital personnel and consult with nursing staff, security, and other staff as needed
