Cast & Crew serves film, television, streaming and live entertainment productions, delivering B2B SaaS products plus specialized payroll and workforce support for production employers and crews.

📋 Description

• Lead and mentor the engineering team • Provide code reviews reflecting acceptance criteria, robustness, style, and maintainability • Drive technical direction during the transition from desktop and mobile applications to a cloud-based company • Work across the entire system, including feature development, infrastructure, production reliability, and monitoring • Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and meet business and customer requirements • Ensure system scalability and performance • Partner with the product team to design and architect features that enhance writers’ productivity and solve pain points • Plan infrastructure and toolset upgrades and address technical debt • Maintain best practices for platform uptime, stability, and responsiveness • Implement new policies as needed • Drive velocity and identify ways to increase it • Contribute high-quality code to issues and products • Report to Final Draft’s Vice President of Engineering

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fields a plus • Deep expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; AWS strongly preferred • Recent development experience in cloud-based NoSQL; MongoDB preferred • Strong proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript for backend development • Strong proficiency in React, React Native, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end development • Experience with system design principles and patterns, including OOP and functional programming • Knowledge of data modeling, REST APIs, and API gateway patterns • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and serverless architecture • Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools and practices • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices • Knowledge of cloud cost management and optimization • Software development experience within the US-based Media and Entertainment industry • Familiarity with Responsible GenAI, LLM, and RAG implementation are valuable
