📋 Description

• Translate spoken situations such as lectures, conversations, and meetings • Use technology to transcribe spoken English in some settings • Read original documents and translate them into the required language • Edit translated versions • Account for cultural sensitivity between original and target languages • Facilitate communication with discretion and impartiality • Perform other duties as assigned • Report to the Deputy Program Manager

🎯 Requirements

• High School/BA Degree or equivalent in years of experience • Medical Interpreting Training School qualification • Foreign Service Institute qualification • Legal Translation online certifications • Certified Translation Professional (CPT), AOC ATA Certified, NAJIT Certification, or Commission for Healthcare Interpreters certification • Fluency in one or more of Arabic, Farsi, Ilonggo, Mandarin, Swahili, or Vietnamese • Ability to pass a background check; additional project/client checks may be required • Ability to facilitate communication with discretion and impartiality • Proficiency in oral and written communication • Broad knowledge across varied topics • Strong social awareness, empathy, and attentiveness • Ability to track and remember information while interpreting simultaneously • Physical stamina and dexterity for extended interpretation sessions • Problem-solving skills • Proficiency in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat • Ability to manage multiple tasks • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Ability to be on-call and respond to potential jobs within 48 hours • Ability to work extended periods and use a computer and office productivity tools • Ability to establish a productive, professional workspace • May need to work flexible schedules, holidays, or outside normal business hours • May need to travel for business or professional development
