📋 Description

• Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial operations and reporting • Research, maintain and implement financial accounting systems, software, and business processes • Manage financial reporting and state and regulatory compliance filings • Direct preparation of accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with statutory accounting practices • Monitor and analyze department work to develop efficient procedures and resource use to enhance departmental workflows • Manage hiring, training, counseling, termination, and performance appraisals of Accounting personnel • Advise Accounting staff regarding non-routine reporting transactions • Support the Vice President – Finance with special projects, workflow process improvements, and operations matters • Serve as Data Governance lead for financial data • Manage budgeting and forecasting processes • Develop and maintain key performance metrics • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities • Develop and deliver reporting for Executive leadership, Board, and other stakeholders • Develop strategies for analyzing metrics to identify trends, processes, and system opportunities and recommend action • Work with business units and IT to address financial data and reporting issues and requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting • MBA, CPA, CFA or other advanced financial credential preferred • 7 to 10 years of experience in a senior level finance or accounting position • Knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations • Microsoft Suite experience required • Advanced Excel and Word skills required, including Power Query • Advanced proficiency in SQL and business intelligence (BI) dashboard tools, including experience with refactoring existing queries • Duck Creek Insurance suite system, including Clarity and Snowflake, experience preferred • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines • Excellent oral and written communication skills
