📋 Description

• Perform day-to-day accounting functions, including monthly journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations • Maintain the company purchasing card system, including setting up and training new users • Submit the annual Florida Unclaimed Property tax return • Assist with annual audits and review audited financial statements • Assist the Accounting Manager in providing financial statements to Management and the Board • Review and import patient claims files into the company’s general ledger system • Prepare monthly journal entries, financial supplemental schedules, account reconciliations, and roll-forwards for assigned general ledger accounts • Review cash manager donor payment transactions and Development journal entries for accuracy • Work with Development personnel to ensure accurate coding • Review prepaid invoices and supporting documentation and update the corresponding prepaid worksheet • Gather and prepare required data for annual Medicare cost reports • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience • MBA or CPA preferred; both may be substituted by experience under a CPA or degreed Accountant • Minimum of two (2) years’ accounting experience, preferably in healthcare • Minimum of two (2) years of hands-on experience with general ledger and related subsystems • Intermediate skill with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint • Proficient with 10-key by touch • Strong customer service, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, organizational, and computer skills • Knowledge and competency in accounting and analysis • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements • Ability to work independently and with a team • Ability to work under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment • Satisfactorily complete competency requirements for the position • Consent to drug and/or alcohol testing after a conditional offer of employment • Ongoing compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Policy • Eligibility verification through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse after a conditional offer and ongoing eligibility
