📋 Description

• Analyze and translate high-level customer requirements into detailed designs for complex business problems • Design solutions aligned with long-term plans for services or products based on expertise and customer insights • Define interfaces and develop code for modules across products or services; influence or drive architectural changes • Ensure consistent, usable, forward-looking, maintainable test infrastructure • Optimize, refactor, and reuse code across multiple code bases to improve performance and maintainability • Lead code reviews, understand root causes of issues, and resolve them • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production performance and availability issues across product areas • Develop and maintain architectural documentation • Design secure products and services; fix and enhance security in existing applications • Estimate work, time, resources, and skill needs for projects spanning multiple product areas • Identify innovative technologies or solutions and propose solution strategies • Work with architecture to review and approve technology proposals • Mentor and coach software engineers; seek mentorship from others • Define engineering lifecycle and practices with the principal software engineer • Drive collaboration across multiple teams and enable others • Anticipate business needs and present options to leadership and business stakeholders with product managers • Perform other duties as assigned according to team and/or country-specific requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IS, MIS, or other technology degree, or minimum 4 years of equivalent work experience and high school diploma/GED • Minimum 6 years of experience developing and implementing commercial software across several platforms while leveraging a variety of programming languages • Experience owning and delivering projects and results of increasing technical complexity • Experience with modern development languages (e.g. .Net CORE, C#, Java) • Experience with thin-client development (e.g. HTML/CSS, JavaScript, JS frameworks) • Experience with database objects in relational databases (e.g. MS SQL, Oracle), including schema design, stored procedure development, and performance and optimization techniques • Experience with non-relational databases (e.g. MongoDB, Elastic, Cosmos) • Experience with HTTP and REST architecture • Experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing • Experience with version control systems (e.g. GIT, GITHub, TFS, etc.) • Experience with CI/CD continuous integration / continuous deployment practices • Experience building cloud native applications and services (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) • Preferred: experience working on large-scale open source or inner source software development • Preferred: experience in system integration projects or global projects • Preferred: experience with data streaming architecture and frameworks (Kafka, ESB) • Preferred: solid communication skills and strong customer focus • Preferred: effective collaborator, experienced in creating technical partnerships across teams • Preferred: ability to learn and understand various technical domains and communicate complex technical and business concepts • Preferred: experience directly or indirectly leading high performing teams and growing software engineering talent • Preferred: proven track record delivering results in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities • Preferred: values a diverse and inclusive work environment
