📋 Description

• Consult on assigned research projects under department director supervision • Collaborate with department personnel on research projects • Perform data analysis, visualization, interpretation, and informatics activities • Prepare summaries, presentations, manuscript sections, and figures for complex data and results • Develop databases for organized entry, reliable storage, and efficient retrieval of complex data • Establish project schedules and monitor ongoing project status • Train department personnel in specialized and custom software packages and databases • Recommend improvements to departmental computer hardware and software infrastructure • Maintain professional growth through literature review and participation in educational programs, workshops, conferences, and in-service meetings • Maintain department records, reports, and files • Attend required meetings and perform special projects • Follow organizational policies and maintain confidentiality

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree • 0–1 year of experience applying bioinformatics science and technology to sequencing data analysis, modeling, and visualization • Broad knowledge of statistical and mathematical analysis, computer algorithms, programming, and database theory and methods • Knowledge of molecular biology preferred • Experience using UNIX/LINUX and high-performance computing • Experience in R or similar commonly used statistical languages • Basic knowledge of Python, Perl, or other programming languages • Experience with statistical, spreadsheet, graphics, and word-processing software packages • Ability to follow City of Hope and department policies, procedures, safety, environmental, infection control, confidentiality, Code of Conduct, and Compliance Plan requirements
