📋 Description

• Coordinate and support the personal injury department's medical records and billing functions • Initiate medical records by creating and processing patient cases • Retrieve medical records through chart exporting and document unretrievable charts for statistical and follow-up purposes • Deliver charts and requests to assigned personnel or company • Communicate record availability or unavailability to healthcare providers, requesters, and attorneys • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA rules and regulations • Forward records to third-party vendors as necessary • Contact patients to gather information • Verify auto insurance, personal health insurance, insurance payments, and balances • Contact attorneys to gather policy limit information and accident details • Schedule patients or transfer scheduling to patient access after clearance • Create billing statements for Clearway Pain and Clearway Surgery Center • Verify billing balances and send statements to requested parties • Establish points of contact with attorneys' offices and patients • Check work email regularly throughout the workday • Complete required training and in-services • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience • Candidates must live in one of the states where the company operates: MD, DE, VA, NJ, PA, FL, AL, GA, SC, or TX • Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, coworkers, and the public • Ability to work independently and within a team • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions • Ability to work a flexible schedule • Ability to respond with patience and understanding during stressful patient health and emergent situations • Ability to multitask and prioritize • Extreme attention to detail • Strong organizational skills • Problem-solving and reasoning abilities • Ability to meet predefined quality standards • Professional attitude and appearance • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding rules • Solid knowledge of insurance and third-party payer guidelines • Working knowledge of healthcare, medical specialties, and medical terminology • Strong commitment to customer service, organizational compliance, ethical and professional conduct, and continuous improvement • Preferred: experience with motor vehicle insurance or a chiropractor's office • Preferred: two years of experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) • Preferred: Medical Billing Certification • Reliable transportation
