📋 Description

• Coordinate and support personal injury department functions related to medical records and billing • Initiate medical records by creating and processing patient cases • Retrieve medical records through chart exporting and document retrieval issues for statistical and follow-up purposes • Deliver charts/requests to assigned personnel or company • Communicate record availability or unavailability to healthcare providers, requesters, and attorneys • Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain work continuity • Maintain confidentiality of patient records and comply with HIPAA rules and regulations • Forward records to third-party vendors as necessary • Call patients to gather information • Verify auto insurance and contact attorneys for policy limits and accident details • Verify patients' personal health insurance • Contact patients to schedule or transfer scheduling to patient access after clearance • Create billing statements for Clearway Pain and Clearway Surgery Center • Verify billing balances against patient accounts and send statements to requested parties • Confirm insurance payments and verify balances after posting • Establish points of contact with attorneys' offices and patients • Check work email regularly throughout the workday • Participate in and complete required trainings and in-services • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience • Must live in one of the states where the company currently operates: MD, DE, VA, NJ, PA, FL, AL, GA, SC, or TX • Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook) • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including exceptional customer service • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with doctors, clinical staff, co-workers, and the public • Ability to work individually and within a team • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions • Ability to work a flexible schedule • Ability to respond with patience and understanding during stressful patient-health and emergent situations • Ability to multitask and prioritize • Extreme attention to detail • Strong organization skills • Problem-solving and reasoning abilities • Ability to meet predefined quality standards • Professional attitude and appearance • Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding rules • Solid foundation of insurance knowledge and third-party payer guidelines • Working knowledge of the healthcare field, medical specialty, and medical terminology • Strong desire to provide excellent customer service • Compliance with applicable organizational rules and regulations • High ethical and professional standards • Desire to continuously improve professional performance • Reliable transportation • Preferred: experience with motor vehicle insurance or a chiropractor's office • Preferred: two years' experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) • Preferred: Medical Billing Certification
